This unique bird was developed as a higher production Marans. While not as dark as a Black Copper Marans, they lay some of the prettiest eggs we've seen on the farm! We've seen dark brown eggs, speckled eggs, red eggs, and nearly purple eggs from these girls (they tend to put a heavier "bloom" on the egg, which can result in some cool colors). They are an excellent start for unique egg color breeding projects. Their large eggs are a great addition to the easter basket. We have noticed these birds tend to slow down production a little more than average their second winter.
