Barred Rocks are outgoing and very friendly chickens, and are excellent egg layers. Healthy and robust, they do very well dealing with the temperature swings in Colorado, and are known for laying straight through the winter months. They are also excellent foragers and seem particulary resistant to feather lice and mites.
